Tonight's Classic Country Saturday Night show will be special for a couple of different reasons. The main reason it will be special is because it will be up to you to pick the music that we hear during the show.

The second reason it will be special is tonight we'll feature a live broadcast from the Delcambre Shrimp Festival. The third reason is a very familiar voice will be taking your phone calls and announcing your special messages on the air. Finally tonight on Classic Country Saturday Night we will honor one of the true legends of our music.

It was on this date in 1969 the Merle Haggard took the struggles of the "workin' man" to the top of the charts with his anthem to all of us who bust our asses at our jobs every day. The song is called Workin' Man Blues.

It pays homage to everyone who gets up every morning, goes to work, gets paid way too little, gets too little respect, and does it all because it's the right thing to do. Here's to the Hag and all of our workin' people of Acadiana. Enjoy your weekend and enjoy Classic Country Saturday Night.

If you just can't wait to hear Workin' Man Blues on the radio, here's a video to keep you company until the show starts.
