Come celebrate the 46th annual Earth Day in one of Acadiana's most historic and beautiful settings, Vermilionville. Sunday, April 23, the Bayou Vermilion District will host activities from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm to celebrate our beloved Mother Earth. And the best part of this year's festivities - admission is free!

You can paddle in Vermilionville's Petit Bayou, enjoy boat tours, craft stations, cheese making demonstrations, and a free yoga class. There are also tons of activities for the kids, including seed planting, paper pot making, fish rubbings and leaf print making.

Live entertainment will be provided by Horace Trahan and the Ossun Express and T'Monde.

It's also a great opportunity to clean out your closet and bring gently used clothing and books for the always popular #ReduceReuseRecycle Clothing and Book Swap. And whatever is not claimed will be donated to a local charity, so it's a winning situation either way.

And new this year, a 'Bike to Earth Day' Poker Run, which begins at 11:00 am. For more info call 337-233-4077, and make plans to celebrate the great outdoors on April 23 at Vermilionville!
