If you like celebrating off beat holidays, then mark December 16th down for National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Yes, it is an official holiday, and it's celebrated on the third Friday in December every year.

Not only is this a fun and festive way to ring in Christmas, but you can also help out their official charity, which is Save the Children, who's logo for this annual event is 'Make the World Better with a Sweater.' And this year, even the Royal Family has gotten in on the act, so that in itself makes it a pretty legit holiday!
