Update: 31-year-old Ray Hatton III of Lafayette has been sentenced to just over ten years in prison for admitting to storing child pornography on his computer.

"This defendant admitted to downloading one of the most despicable types of child pornography produced," U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley stated. "Those who download and possess child pornography will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope this serves as a deterrent to anyone seeking to acquire this type of material."

Ray Hatton III of Lafayette has admitted to storing child pornography on his computer - illegal images that prosecutors say involved infants and very young children.

Hatton pled guilty after evidence showed he downloaded the images on an internet file sharing program called Limewire. Prosecutors say Limewire is an internet peer to peer site used to trade files among members and is regularly used to distribute child pornography.

His home was raided in March 8, 2012, as investigators, who had a search warrant, found 10 movies containing the illegal images on his computer. Hatton was indicted December 11, 2012.

Hatton faces a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000.00 fine and five years of probation.
