City officials in Lake Worth, Florida are apologizing for sending out a zombie alert on Sunday during a power outage. That's right, a zombie alert. The message to residents of Lake Worth and Terminus was sent around 1:45 am, and stated 'There are now far less than seven-thousand-three-hundred-eighty customers involved due to extreme zombie activities.'

Ben Kerr, the city’s public information officer, said in a Facebook post on the Lake Worth Live Community site on Monday that 'I want to reiterate that Lake Worth does not have any zombie activity currently and apologize for the system message'. Good to know.

WLBT Jackson, Mississippi Meterologist Dave Roberts posted the alert below.

Ummm, good job, y'all. It's always best to be prepared for a zombie attack.
