“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which airs from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, gives Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about!

On Sunday’s show, Tiffiany Decou, “The Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zach Doise kicked off their coverage of "Clash of the Cocktails." The competition features mixologists from five popular local restuarants who will compete against each other on September 5 at the Madison in Broussard. Proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana.

Event Coordinator Destin Ortego and Thomas Leger from Zea (one of the participating restaurants) not only talked about the red carpet event itself, but also talked about the difference between a mixologist and a bartender.

Tiffiany and Chef also had a very entertaining conversation with Troy Primo from Primo's Peppers. The spoke about "the hottest pepper in the world," as well as other topics pepper-related.

Tiffiany also highlighted her Eat Lafayette Restaurant of the Week - Dwyer's Cafe. Their Eat Lafayette special: Free dessert or soft drink with purchase of a plate lunch when dining in the restaurant.
