KATC has confirmed an early morning platform fire with the U.S. Coast Guard 100 miles south of Vermilion Bay in the Gulf of Mexico.

The fire was reported on the Shell Enchilada Platform around 2 a.m. this morning.

TV 3 says there were 46 crew members on the platform when the fire started. The fire has since been extinguished.

"There were reports of injuries to two crew members. They were evacuated by Shell to a local hospital."
