One Colorado man created his own version of Ctrl+Alt+Del. He substituted those famous Windows commands for some commands of his own. His choice? Ready, Aim, Fire!  37 year old Lucas Hinch had obviously had enough with his uncooperative computer.

According to media reports Hinch removed the malfunctioning machine from his home, took it outside and fired 8 shots from a handgun. This action effectively disabled the computer.

While staffers of the Colorado Springs Police Department can understand the frustration, the law is the law and Hinch was charged with discharging a weapon inside the city limits.

The computer was a Dell, the weapon of choice was a Hi-Point 9mm pistol. According to police spokesperson Lt. Catherine Buckley,

"He did tell us he thought it was okay because we are an open carry state,"

Buckley's comments were reported in a story carried by NBC News. Buckley went on to explain that it was only legal to fire a weapon inside the city limits if the licensed user was attempting to protect life or property.

HInch was quoted in a story reported on CNN in which he described his actions this way,

"It was glorious, Angels sung on high. It was extremely frustrating.I reached critical mass."

Apparently the Dell had shown Mr. Hinch one too many "blue screens of death".
