A 34-year-old guy named Quincy Green was arrested last month in Washington D.C. for carrying a gun without a license. So the court ordered him to wear a GPS ankle monitor.

There was a big boo-boo by the reps from the court who put the monitor on him -- they put it on his prosthetic leg.

So a few days later he popped it off, left his house, and shot and killed someone!

He was never even a suspect, because according to his GPS device, he was home the whole time. But about a week later, someone tipped the cops off that it was him, and he was arrested.

The court apologized weakly by saying, "very simply, it was human error."
