David Cassidy, an actor and musician who famously played Keith Partridge in the 1970's classic TV hit 'The Partridge Family', has died at age 67. His real life stepmother Shirley Jones portrayed his mother on the show, which also starred Danny Bonaduce and Susan Dey. He sold millions of records, and was a wildly popular idol to pre teens and teens all across America.

Cassidy was reportedly in a Florida hospital earlier this week, after suffering organ failure, according to USA Today. He was on life support since Monday. Earlier this year he was diagnosed with dementia, and decided to stop touring.

His representative Jo-Ann Geffen released a statement to USA Today on Tuesday night: 'On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.'

Cassidy was a very good singer, and you can hear one of his most famous songs from the TV show below. #RIP. He was the soundtrack of my youth, and I'm so sad that he is gone.
