Delays Expected On Thursday Near Lewis Street Bridge

Motorists traversing a major New Iberia thoroughfare should expect delays through most of the day Thursday.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation is reporting road crews will be making repairs to the Elias "Bo" Ackal Memorial Bridge crossing Bayou Teche on Lewis Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The DOTD is reporting lane closures and intermittent bridge openings will not make a detour necessary, but may cause delays.

Other options to cross the banks of Bayou Teche include bridges at Highways La. 86, La. 3195 and La. 182.
