Dense Fog Advisory Posted For Acadiana

Motorist across much of Acadiana will be making their way to work this morning under a blanket of fog. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a dense fog advisory for much of the area until at least 9am.

Forecasters say that some people within the advised area will experience visibilities reduced to less that one quarter of a mile during the morning commute. The dense fog advisory extends from Beaumont Texas to the west to Morgan City Louisiana to the east. The advised area is generally between Interstate 10 and the Gulf coast.

Driving in fog requires motorist to be more cognizant of distance between vehicles and stopping distance. Motorist are encouraged to utilize their low beams on their vehicle's headlights to better see the roadway and be seen by other motorist.
