Devery Henderson

Former New Orleans Saints receiver Devery Henderson was signed to a one-year deal by the Washington Redskins on Wednesday night.

The 31-year old Henderson, who prepped at Opelousas High School, before playing his college football at LSU, was a second-round draft choice by New Orleans in 2004.

In nine NFL seasons, all with the Saints Henderson had 245 receptions, for 4,377 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

Henderson's best season was in 2009, the year the Saints won the Super Bowl, when he accumulated 51 catches, for 804 yards, and two touchdowns.

Last season, Henderson had 22 receptions, for 316 yards, the fewest amount of receiving yards he's had since 2004, and one touchdown.

Another former Saints' receiver will be joining Henderson in the Capital City, as Donte' Stallworth was also inked to a deal with the Redskins.

The two receivers will be reunited with Washington defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, who was head coach of the Saints, from 200-2005, and who drafted both players.
