Did Scotty McCreery Nail Or Butcher The National Anthem? – [Video]

Scotty McCreery was chosen to sing the National Anthem last night for the first game of the World Series in St. Louis, Missouri.

After a bit of technical difficulties, for whatever reason, his microphone wasn’t on when he started singing. He gracefully started over as the camera panned over to the American Flag.

During the song people are claiming he “changed up the lyrics” a bit.

Instead of “O say does that…” it is claimed that he is heard to be saying “No Jose does that Star-Spangled banner yet wave…”

What’s your opinion on this? Did he “butcher” the lyrics? Or did the 17 year old do the National Anthem justice?

I listened to it several times, and I’m pretty sure that is just how he sings it!  It’s not the wrong word
