We all fear something. I took an informal poll around the office, and snakes seem to be coming in at #1 as far as scary things go. I'm extremely fearful of snakes, but nothing prepared me for some pictures I found on BrainJet about Thalassophobia - Fear of the Sea. And I'm talking about the creepy underwater world that we can't see. The one that's below our feet when we're swimming at the beach, or just under the water when we're out on a boat deep sea fishing. (shudder!)

Considering that we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shark Week on Discovery, I would be hesitant to even put my big toe in the water after seeing these images. Really. No, really.

If you're up for it, check out these mind boggling and scary images from our final frontier -  the creepy underwater world that exists below the surface of seas around the world.. And if you didn't have Thalassophobia already, you might, after seeing these pics.

Happy Shark Week, y'all....
