Dolly Parton's second made-for-TV movie, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, premieres on Wednesday (Nov. 30) and tells more true stories from the country icon's childhood. Readers can press play above to get a peek behind the scenes of the new film and hear from some of its stars.

"Being brought up in a big family, Christmas was always wonderful," Parton says in the video; even though her family didn't have the money for lots of presents, "we just depended on each other, the love of family and the love of God, no matter what we came up against ...

"So many times, we do forget -- we just think Christmas is about presents, and getting together and just eating food," Parton continues, "and it is about all that, but it's about love and acceptance and forgiveness."

Christmas of Many Colors, explains Ricky Schroder (who plays Parton's father), is "a story about sacrifice -- what are the parents willing to do for their kids, and what are the kids ultimately willing to do so that their mom and dad can have a nice Christmas?" During an unexpected blizzard, the Parton family finds themselves sacrificing their own wants and needs for a special gift, while an important person in Parton’s life starts to recognize that she is meant for musical stardom.

After starring in Coat of Many Colors in 2015, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Jennifer Nettles and Schroder reprise their roles as a young Parton and her parents in Christmas of Many Colors; Parton herself will make a cameo in the new made-for-TV movie. Nettles calls the film "a story of dreams, a story of how people can come into our lives and inspire us or facilitate our dream."

Parton’s first made-for-TV movie, Coat of Many Colors, aired in December of 2015 and earned 15.9 million viewers overall. It was the most-watched film on broadcast or cable TV in nearly seven years.

“I was so overwhelmed and touched by how many people watched Coat of Many Colors and their reaction to it,” Parton says. “I am so happy to share this story with the viewers and to say there is so much more to tell because mine truly has been a life of many colors. I hope the viewers will fall in love all over again.”

Coat of Many Colors director Stephen Herek has signed on once again for Christmas of Many Colors, with Pamela K. Long writing the script and Long, Sam Haskell and Parton acting as the movie’s executive producers. The film will premiere on Nov. 30 at 9PM ET on NBC; prior to its airing, Parton will take part in the Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony, which will air on NBC at 8PM.

Parton is currently out on the road, supporting her new album, Pure & Simple, with her Pure & Simple Tour. In addition to Christmas of Many Colors, fans can also expect to see another made-for-TV movie from Parton, based on her song “Jolene,”soon.
