In a somewhat surprising move, the New Orleans Hornets decided to part ways with small forward Dominic McGuire today.

Head coach Monty Williams noted that the 6'9 McGuire would have seen his playing time decreased immensely now that shooting guard Eric Gordon is back from his knee injury.

However, the Hornets sent rookie small forward Darius Miller to the D-League, and Al-Farouq Aminu has been inconsistent all season, seeing his playing time fluctuate as a result.

While McGuire's play wasn't special, it was at the very least serviceable in spot duty. He averaged 2.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 16 minutes in the nine games he spent with New Orleans.
