Drew Brees stopped by The Ellen Show yesterday and she didn't let him leave without talking about his contract.

In addition to being a comedian and talk show host, Ellen is also a die-hard Saints fan. So when Drew Brees stopped by to visit her show yesterday (Jan 31.) she got right to the point.

What does this mean that your contract is up this year?

A lot of Saints fans know that the 38-year-old quarterback is nearing the end of his career, but according to Drew, he's still got some business to take care of before he hangs it up for good.

I'm playing year to year and playing with a sense of urgency each year. Because I want to come back here with the Vince Lombardi Trophy again. I want to make that commitment to you: I want to come back here with the Vince Lombardi trophy just like we did almost 9 years ago.

The sit down with Ellen comes after Brees was questioned by TMZ about Sean Payton's future earlier that day in the airport.

Many reports have speculated that Sean Payton could possibly be working from another sideline next season, but according to Brees that won't be the case for Payton, or the Pro Bowl quarterback for that matter.

Still not totally convinced, Ellen prodded Drew for more clarity and confirmation that he wasn't going anywhere.

No, I don't plan on going anywhere for a while. But I do also want to value each and every year. It doesn't matter what my contract looks like, to me -- whether it's long-term or short-term. To me, I have to prove myself each and every year, prove that I'm the guy to quarterback that team and to lead that team and to help us win a championship.

The best part of the video was a quick one, and Ellen suggested the Saints needed what a LOT of the Who Dat would agree on.

Check out the video and see if you agree and share this with all your fellow Who Dats!
