Driving In Fog, You’re Doing it Today
If we had a dollar for every phone call we get at 97.3 The Dawg on foggy days from irate motorist wanting us to remind other drivers to turn on their headlights we could retire and move to some place that isn't foggy. People forget! With the automatic feature of daytime running lights some people actually think their headlights are on but alas, they aren't and then bad things can happen. Here are some great reminders to consider before you brave the streets and head for work and school this morning.
When driving in fog, reduce your speed and turn on your headlights. Think about how far they can see and how long it will take you to stop. Keep an eye on your speedometer. Studies show that some drivers acclimate themselves to foggy conditions and unconsciously increase their speed over time. Make sure that you can be seen.
