Thanks to Twitter and Huffington Post, I've discovered a relatively easy way to save space on my iPhone.

I was perusing my Twitter feed and came upon a tweet from Huffington that suggested a few ways to clean up the mumbo-jumbo that is eating away at the memory. I admit that some of it made my technologically-challenged brain go all fuzzy, but I was intrigued by the suggestion about using Google+ or Dropbox. I had a few minutes to play around, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I already had a Google identity (understand that means I have a Gmail account). Basically, I downloaded the Google+ app. I opened "settings" on my phone, then "photos & camera," and made it look like the picture you see below (because that's what the article told me to do!):

Voila! All of my pictures magically copied over into the Google+ app thingy! I admit that it sort of creeps me out that it knew to do that. I went online, signed into my Google account, and all the pictures were there, too. They are saved forever, and I can delete them from my phone. You can also upload them from your computer. Here's other information, if you need it.

The BEST part is that I don't have to plug my phone into the computer, a process which I detest. I have also, since completing this Google+ process, taken other photos. They, too, copied over automatically.

Google accounts are free and, according to the Huffington Post article, are not limited to space. There may be some fine print I'm not reading. I'm sure there's some disclaimer somewhere that I need to see. Truthfully, I just need to access my photos when I need to get to them.

Happy space-saving!
