Elijah Mitchell Earns SBC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun running back Elijah Mitchell rushed for a career-high 191 yards and 3 touchdowns in Saturday's win at Texas State, helping the Cajuns offense explode for 557 total yards, including 327 yards on the ground.

For his efforts, Mitchell was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week today.

"We had a good sound plan and got ourselves in some advantage runs," said head coach Billy Napier after the game. "We rushed the ball effectively."

The Erath high alum reached his rushing total on only 20 caries. His 191 yard effort is the 22nd best single-game rushing effort by an FBS player this season.

Defensive back Monquavion Brinson of Georgia Southern is the SBC Defensive Player of the Week, and ULM wide receiver Marcus Green is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
