Escaped Work Release Inmate Accused Of Abducting Woman, Police Asking For Your Help

An inmate, Christopher Ricker, who escaped from the St. Tammany Work Release Program is also being accused of abducting a woman this morning.

"35-year-old Christopher Ricker allegedly took a woman from her Covington area workplace, traveled with her to Tangipahoa Parish, then kicked her out of his 1999 blue Toyota Camry on Wardline Road. The woman called deputies at 8:30 a.m. this morning to tell them what happened.

Ricker was located traveling on Hwy 442 in Loranger, but deputies say he crashed his vehicle after a short pursuit. Ricker allegedly got out of the vehicle, jumped into the river, and headed east on foot.

Deputies are searching the area with the K9 team. If you see Ricker, or have information on his whereabouts, you're asked to call 911 immediately."
