The film, which is based on the bestselling novel Sweet Lavender by author and Executive Producer Terry a O'Neal, is already getting buzz in the media and film industry and is putting SWLA on the map. Along the Dirt Road has been described as an "influential classic story"--a cross between August Wilson's "Fences" and Langston Hughes' "Not Without Laughter," is casting Hollywood greats, such as Desreta Jackson who played Young Celie in the Award-Winning film The Color Purple. Also, playing the young lead character in the film is Camryn Levert, daughter of Grammy Award-Winning Vocalist Gerald Levert. Other well-known actors are currently in negotiation stages and will be announced to the public soon. The production is calling SWLA residents, artists, musicians, actors and entertainers to get involved. We invite you to join us on audition day!
