Here are some family fun events at Vermilionville for the month of January:

Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 and Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 - Canoe Paddle
8:30 am. - 11:30 am. Take a canoe trip on the Bayou Vermilion. $5 insurance fee to American Canoe Association for a canoe or bring your own canoe or kayak and paddle for free. RSVP in advance by emailing rec&ed@bayouvermiliondistrict.org or call (337)233-4077.

Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 - Cajun Jam
1 pm. - 3:30 pm. The free jam is held in the Vermilion Performance Center and open to all skill levels- beginner to professional. This weekely Cajun Jam is led by some of the area's finest musicians. (Held every Saturday)

Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 - Bal du Dimanche with Jimmy Breaux & Friends
1 pm. - 4 pm. Dance the afternoon away; refreshments available; $5 admission. (Held every Sunday)

Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 - Courir de Mardi Gras
11 am. - 4 pm. A traditional, country Mardi Gras run throughout the historic village, followed by a bowl of gumbo and live music.
