Everyone's attendance to the event will help support AcA's expansive programming efforts- including theater\, dance\, music\, opera\, and cinema presentations\, along with outstanding visual arts\, community and education initiatives.    Tickets go on sale Tuesday\, June 5 at 10 a.m. They are $25 but the first 200 tickets sold are only $20. VIP tickets can be purchased at $75 and allows early admission at 5 p.m. with access to the VIP tent with special beer selections\, food and access to the VIP restrooms. A designated driver ticket is available for $15. All proceeds from the event benefit the Acadiana Center for the Arts.    No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to enter the festival premises. The Festival is a celebration on the river and one of it's goals is to increase awareness of the river as a viable source of recreation for Lafayette Parish. You do not want to miss out on this fun event!    The Festival will kick-off with a showing of antique putt-putt boats at 10 am. and members of the community can speak with the boat owners about their boats and engines. Other activities for the day include babbitt pouring and boat restoration demonstrations\, canoeing\, children's activities\, and live music by Goldman Thibodeaux and The Lawtell Players and more.    The boat parade will launch at 2 pm. with a send-off toast by Grand Marshal\, Lafayette Parish President Joey Durel. The parade will end with a celebration at Cochon restaurant around 5 pm. with live music by Christine Balfa & Friends\, dancing\, food and drinks. Residents and businesses that are located along the parade route are encouraged to join with family and friends and watch the parade! Those who are not located along the parade route may watch from Vermilionville\, Beaver Park\, Rotary Point or at Cochon restauarant. The Competition will include softball\, horseshoes\, and aquatic events for nearly 400 Special Olympic Louisiana athletes who qualified during local and area competitions.    Community members\, friends and family\, and the media are encouraged to attend. Friday night's Opening Ceremonies will include: arrival of the Olympic torch\, Parade of Athletes\, and the lighting of the "Flame of Hope." NFL Quarterback\, Jake Delhomme will be there as the Honorary Coach. Lafayette Parish Sheriff\, Mike Neustrom will be there as Honorary Chair for the Opening Ceremonies and will throw the first pitch.    There will be great entertainment\, food and drinks throughout the weekend. Saturday will be the Healthy Athletes discipline: Opening Eyes\, Special Smiles\, Health Promotion\, Healthy Hearing and Fit Feet. All medical and dental professionals are invited to view. They contacted Huey Kern and Terry Guidry and asked them to join the band. We started rehearsing at Dana's house and you could feel we had something special. Our first gig was June 15\, 1978 for Scott and Tiny Hebert's wedding reception in Catahoula. The New Iberia City Park Playground and Enhancement Project and Iberia on Tap are in need of your help. We need you to support the first Acadiana Dragon Boat Races on the Teche.    The race will feature traditional Hong Kong style dragon boats\, music with Nik L Beer and food at Bouligny Plaza. The race is 200 meters and participants need to be at least 16 years old. A bracket winning system will allow spectators to place bets.    The teams will have an opportunity to practice with a professional dragon boat coach during practice one week before the festival\, and will race at least twice during the event.
