What is SJS (Stevens Johnson Syndrome) and TEN (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis) - worse form of SJS Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a serious disorder in which your skin and mucous membranes react severely to a medication or infection.

Often, Stevens-Johnson syndrome begins with flu-like symptoms, followed by a painful red or purplish rash that spreads and blisters, eventually causing the top layer of your skin to die and shed. Last year 9 year old Paige Lacombe from Lafayette was faced with this horrific life changing event. The LaCombe family wants to be the voice for all who have suffered with SJS. Their mission is to spread awareness of early detection. Everyone needs to understand what causes SJS and to know what the warning signs are, this can happen to anyone children and adults.
