Stevens Johnson Syndrome Awareness
Governor Bobby Jindal stated that August 2013 will be Stevens Johnson Syndrome Awareness month. This was done on behalf of the LaCombe family’s request. Eight year old Lafayette resident, Paige LaCombe, was diagnosed with SJS in March 2013. Paige is currently still battling the disease and effects of SJS daily.
It is important everyone comes together to walk and raise money and public awareness of SJS. It is important to educate people about the early symptoms of SJS and getting the prompt medical attention. For updates on Paige LaCombe, follow her Facebook page here. All proceeds will benefit Stevens Johnson Syndrome Foundation. For more information call (337)852-5541.
