Three days of kayak and canoe racing for paddlers of all skill levels will take place in Port Barre on the Bayou Teche. The race stretches 135 miles, takes 3 days, and ends in Berwick.
Many side races have been inspired by this event to cater to the more casual paddler as well as for pirogue owners. One-day races taking place are:
Acadian - Port Barre to St. Martinville, 49 miles, October 5th
Crawfish - Port Barre to Breaux Bridge, 30 miles, October 5th
Sugar - St. Martinville to Franklin, 59 miles, October 6th
Hot Sauce - St. Martinville to New Iberia, 24 miles, October 6th
Black Bear - New Iberia to Franklin, 35 miles, October 6th
Oil & Gas - Franklin to Berwick, 27 miles, October 7th
