How lucky are we to live in a state that rides itself on our fabulous cuisine?! 365 days a year we have access to truly amazing local and regional dishes, and we love it!

Only in Louisiana has a list of classic staples that every self respecting citizen of the Bayou State needs in their life. Dishes that we couldn't live without, and people travel many miles here to enjoy.

  • Red Beans and Rice. It wouldn't be Monday without them
  • Jambalaya. The Bayou State's version of Paella, and one of our most famous dishes
  • Meat Pies. Made famous in Natchitoches, but loved all over the state
  • Beignets. If you haven't gotten powdered sugar all over yourself eating these at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, are you really from here?
  • Coffee with Chicory. You need something to go along with those beignets, don't you?
  • Boiled Crawfish. Is there anything more fun or tasty than a crawfish boil with friends and family? Just add a cold beer, and you're in heaven.
  • Gumbo. Everybody makes the best. Just ask them.
  • King Cake. I'm not a big fan of having king cake around all year. I think it's just fine that this delicious sweet treat signifies that it's Mardi Gras season in Louisiana.
  • Po' Boy. The official sandwich of Louisiana.
  • Crawfish Etouffee. A classic dish, and one that we are known worldwide for.
  • Boudin. Whether you get them in a link, a ball, or a wrap, nothing quite screams south Louisiana like these tasty bites of pork and rice.
  • Pralines. Our most famous dessert, packed with pecans and brown sugar.
  • Muffuletta. A  gigantic sandwich made famous at Central Grocery in New Orleans.
  • Cracklins. Another south Louisiana delicacy. Like a big piece of deep fried bacon popped into your mouth. Yum!
