When it comes to the bizarre you just can't beat Bunkie Louisiana. But this time even the residents of Bunkie are scratching their heads at the strange crime that took place over the weekend.

Authorities in Bunkie say a man, 25 year old William Girard Logan, crashed a wedding. It was during that wedding that he flashed false credentials and identified himself as an agent with Homeland Security. What he did next was even more strange.

Logan was observed by wedding guests loading countless wedding gifts into his pickup truck. He then drove away with his ill gotten gains. In case you were wondering, the bride and groom had already left the reception on their way to their honeymoon.

Fortunately several wedding guest made a note of Logan's strange activity and notified police. A warrant to search his home was obtained and many of the gifts were recovered. Several other gifts and cards were found strewn about a wooded area near the suspects home. Police believe it was an obvious search for cash. They also say many of the wedding couple's high dollar gifts were not found.

"We don't know the exact monetary amount of what all was taken but we think it's between three to four thousand dollars."Cookware, electronics, there's still a whole lot of it out there that we're still trying to find."

Those are the comments of Bunkie Police Detective Chad Jeansonne as reported to the Louisiana Radio Network. Jeansonne went on to say that Logan was arrested and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, theft, possession of a firearm by a felon and obstruction.
