FEMA Warns Residents of Possible Scam Following Flood

FEMA is warning residents of a possible scam now that the flood water has started to recede across south Louisiana.

Officials with FEMA say there have been individuals going into neighborhoods affected by the flood selling "Mold Free Certificates of Occupancy." The scammers tell residents that they will not be able to reoccupy their home without paying $1000 to receive one.

This is NOT a legit certificate. If anyone approaches you with this, please local your local police department immediately. Also, get as much information about the person(s) who are trying to sell you this.
