Fire At South Rayne Elementary

An early morning blaze at South Rayne Elementary school appears to have been intentionally set. As of this time details are still very sketchy. It does appear that the majority of the damage was confined to a small section of the school.

According to sources there was a break in at the school and it is believed the perpetrators intentionally started a fire inside the school gym.

According to reports, faculty and staff have been asked to report to school today. Students will delay returning to school at South Rayne Elementary until tomorrow (Thursday). Today was supposed to have been the first day of classes for all students in Acadia Parish Public Schools.
