Raise your hand if you love spring cleaning? If you didn't then you and I are in the same boat. I absolutely hate to clean. The crazy thing is, I can't stand living in filth. So cleaning just has to happen. I am an avid spring cleaner and when I do clean, I get in the zone.

I place all of my cleaning necessities on my counter, make a list of what needs to be done and then get the show on the road. My usual routine is to begin in the kitchen with dusting and cleaning the counter tops and then on to the rest of the house. The last things I tackle are sweeping and mopping. Does this sound familiar to you? It should, but did you know that we are missing a few things on our lists?

This is true. For those of us who despise cleaning, we may be overlooking a few things in the house that probably need to be cleaned more than anything.

  1. Base Boards: It has been so long I think there are things living on them...
  2. Under Appliances: If they are too big to easily pick up, we simply leave them be
  3. Inside the Kitchen Cabinets: Clean dishes go in them so we assume they wouldn't be dirty
  4. Dusting Things Above Eye-Level: For me, that's just about everything because I can't reach and refuse to climb
  5. Cleaning the Walls: Dust loves walls and so do little ones with crayons, we just choose to overlook them

I will be the first to admit that I don't clean any of these things. I could blame it on forgetfulness, but I just really don't like to bother with them. How about you? Do you remember to clean these too often forgotten things?

Whether you are a neat freak or hot mess, we all tend to overlook certain things when cleaning thinking 'Oh I will get to it at some point.' When are you going to do your spring cleaning? Well, when you do, let me know so I can get a few helpful tips!
