Former American Idol Finalist Michael Johns Died Suddenly Following Blod Clot

If you follow American Idol, you may remember the name Michael Johns. He finished eighth on Season 7 back in 2008 (the one with David Cook and Adam Archuleta).

Well, Johns was found dead on Friday at the age of 35. It was pretty sudden. Apparently, he had a blood clot in his ankle.

He was experiencing some leg pain the day before and went to the emergency room. There was also some swelling and bruising but doctors couldn't find anything wrong and sent him home.

The next afternoon his body was found on the couch at his friend's apartment. When paramedics arrived, he was already dead.

After leaving American Idol, Johns continued to pursue his passion for music by recording his very own album titled Hold Back My Heart. It was released in 2009.

Johns is the first Idol top 10 finalist to pass away in the show's 13-season history. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
