Yet another Louisiana educator is behind bars after allegations surfaced that suggest he and several students had a sexual relationship. That educator is a former Teacher of the Year from Iberville Parish.  The teacher 30 year old Keavin Keith has been charged with at least 37 counts of inappropriate relations with students during his tenure at MSA-West Academy in Plaquemine.

In report published by the Louisiana Radio Network Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi says his office received the  complaint late Monday.

We had information that he had a sexual relation with a former student and at that point we developed some charges

While investigating that complaint the I.P.S.O. discovered evidence that lead them to believe that more than one student had been victimized. The evidence they discovered suggested that at least 3 different students were involved in relations with the teacher. This led to quite a list of charges against Mr. Keith.

30 counts of sex between student and teacher, 5 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and 2 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile

Sheriff Stassi says the investigation into the possibility of more victims remains ongoing. He believes there could be even more victims that have yet to come forward.

If there are any other victims out there, we ask them to please com forward at this time.If there are students at that school and any improper things took place with this teacher.

Keith was honored in 2013 as Iberville Parish Teacher of the year. He is currently being held in Iberville Parish Jail no bond has been set at this time.
