The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says they have fired four deputies.

Two deputies were terminated for allegedly violating the department's use of force policy

Two more deputies were let go for allegations of code of conduct policy violations.

The violations stem from a single incident involving one inmate.

According to Captain Kip Judice, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office ended the employment of the following employees:

  • Deputy Michael  McSheffrey Jr., Hired 3-26-07 Separated from LPSO 4-23-14, Violation of Use of Force Policy
  • Deputy Brandon Ross Gallien, Hired 10-066-09 Separated from LPSO 4-23-14, Violation of Use of Force Policy
  • Deputy Scarla Celestine, Hired 9-11-06 Separated from LPSO 4-28-14, Violation of Code of Conduct Policy
  • Deputy Adrian Theriot, Hired 8-16-10 Separated from LPSO 4-23-14, Violation of Code of Conduct Policy

Judice adds that are four dismissed employees were assigned to the corrections division at the time of the alleged violations of policy.

All four deputies were assigned to Corrections at the time of the violations of policy.

The investigation is ongoing.
