Legendary swamp pop singer G.G. Shinn passed away on Tuesday at the age of 78. We now know details of his funeral services.

Visitation is set for Sunday, August 12 from 5pm to 8pm at Christ Church in West Monroe. The funeral will follow on Monday at 2pm.

Born on August 25, 1939 in Franklin, Louisiana, G.G. had been residing in Monroe.

His musical career spanned over 50 years, most notably as a trumpeter and vocalist for the iconic Fabulous Boogie Kings.

He also performed with such acts as the Roller Coasters, TSC Trucking Co, Chase, and The Hot Damn Band.

Shinn was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
