Usually when I have a head-turning experience at the gas station, it's because the price is too darn high. But driving to work today I had a different whiplash movement -- a gas price sign that was near $3.00!

An emphatic "woo-hoo" was my utterance as my truck passed the gas station by work.

Actually, in the past week, national gas prices have dipped 7.9 cents. Right now the average price in Louisiana is $3.14/gallon. That is about 28 cents than the same time last year.

And the word is that prices will dip below $3.00/gallon by the fall.
