The average gas prices have fallen 4.4 cents in the last week in Louisiana, averaging $3.54 a gallon. This is in comparison to the national average of $3.66 per gallon, which is down 3.2 cents per gallon from one week ago.

The price right now in Louisiana is about 6.2 cents per gallon less than one year ago but 16.2 cents per gallon higher than one month ago.

All these figures are according to the gasoline website GasBuddy.com.

"Relief at the pump has continued for motorists in a majority of the United States during the last week," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "I would caution motorists, however, not to sound the all clear. Refineries will be continuing their switch over to cleaner burning gasoline, and there certainly is the possibility that one mishap could send prices racing higher, much to the disappointment of motorists nationwide," DeHaan said.
