Gender has been a big topic of discussion in America this year thanks in large part to that guy/lady from that show on the E! Network. (I can't say the show's name in public or 17 rabid raccoons will show up at my doorsteps.)

That may or may not have something to do with the trend in baby names so far in 2015 and the fact that they are gender-ambiguous.

BabyCenter.com says that the names seeing the biggest jump in popularity are unisex ones.

Here are the top 10:

  • Amari
  • Karter
  • Phoenix
  • Quinn
  • Reese
  • River
  • Rory
  • Rowan
  • Sawyer
  • Taylor

According to BabyCenter, the reason is that "Millennials are an open-minded and accepting group, and they don't want their children to feel pressured to conform to stereotypes that might be restrictive.

"Just as companies have started making more neutral kids' clothes and taking 'boy' and 'girl' labels off toys, an increasing number of parents are choosing unisex names."

Just remember, if you name your kid Karter, don't think you're gonna have any luck finding anything in the personalized section. You'll have to get used to the term "airbrush".
