George Jones’ Memorial Service

Country music fans across the world said goodbye today to the legendary George Jones, at public memorial service at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Many famous stars, as well as regular folks, were on hand to pay tribute, including Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Barbara Mandrell, and Ronnie Milsap. I thought the most touching moment came when Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill choked up, and couldn’t finish, while singing ‘Go Rest High on that Mountain’ with Grand Ole Opry star Patty Loveless. It was hard for friends and fans alike, to say goodbye.

The Nashville Tennessean has complete coverage of the service. God Bless, Mr Jones, your music will live on, but we will miss you.
