George Lucas Auditioned Kurt Russell, Al Pacino, And Robert De Niro Before Casting Harrison Ford As Han Solo [Video]

Would You believe George Lucas' original vision of Han Solo was that of a huge green alien with with gills & no nose? Lucas eventually decided the character should be humanoid. The Daily Beast reports, he auditioned Billy Dee Williams for the part, but decided the relationship between a black Han Solo and a white Princess Leia would be too controversial. He auditioned a long list of candidates, including Sylvester Stallone, Nick Nolte, Robert De Niro, Kurt Russell, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Jack Nicholson.
