During Saturday night's (Jan. 6) NFL playoff game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams, NBC shared a snippet of Carrie Underwood's brand-new song "The Champion." Readers can press play above to watch the teaser.

Viewers didn't get to hear too much of "The Champion," but just from the bit that made it to TV, listeners will be able to tell that the song is an anthem. Lyrics include "I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakable ..."

“I think it’s going to become a sports anthem,” says Fred Gaudelli, Sunday Night Football's executive producer. “It’s going to be one of those songs that you see cut to highlights for the next 25 years.”

"The Champion" will reportedly be used by NBC during their Super Bowl coverage this year, though it's unclear if fans will get to hear the song before the day of the big game. At least one person has already gotten to hear the song, though: Underwood's husband, Mike Fisher. And he, the singer says, "loved it."

"He would listen to it before playoff games," Underwood says (Fisher was Nashville Predators captain during the team's 2017 Stanley Cup run). "He was like, ‘I want everyone to hear it!’ and I had to tell him, ‘You can’t do that. You can’t play it in the locker room. I’m sorry.’ But that was a good indicator that we were on the right track.”

During the 2017-2018 NFL season, for the fifth year in a row, Underwood sang the Sunday Night Football opening theme. She took over the job from Faith Hill in 2013, and for the 2016-2017 NFL season, Underwood replaced the old SNF theme, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” with “Oh, Sunday Night,” a remake of “Somethin’ Bad,” originally a collaboration between Miranda Lambert and Underwood.
