Good news if you hate those automated robot-sounding voices calling you up at all our hours of the day. Yesterday, the FCC made it much more difficult for telemarketers to send out those automated messages that drive us all nuts.

Now, telemarketers will have to get written consent from consumers before they can make robocalls, even if the consumer didn't sign up for the Do Not Call registry.

According to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, "We have gotten thousands of complaints. Consumers were still getting robocalls they don't want and shouldn't get."

Unfortunately, these new rules do not apply to everyone. Politicians and pollsters still can get in touch with you.

Guess we can't have it all, but this will work for now.
