Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards visited Lafayette to on Monday to asses the damage caused by the recent flood and he took time after his assessment to address the media.

The Gov. encourage everyone who sustained damage to their property to report it immediately. He also addressed the concerns of the Vermillion River and says that local officials are closely monitoring the situation.

Gov. Edwards says that the damage in the parish will be in the multi-millions of dollars, but it is still too early to accurately say how much damage as been done by this record breaking flood.
