Hand Grenade Comes Close [Video]

What is the saying, "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades"? Well here is proof positive that as far as hand grenades are concerned close is not where you want to be. This young recruit in the Chinese army is getting training on the proper use of the hand grenade.

As you can see by the deep trenches and sand bags all around safety is a pretty big deal when it comes to teaching hand grenades. It is probably a good idea to have a cool headed instructor standing by too. This was just too darn close for me! I like my hand grenades rocket propelled and used by trained American soldiers. I wonder how this guy would do in a game of horseshoes?
