It is only human that we are concerned with out appearance. That pimple on your chin, nothing to wear and the dreaded bad hair day.

One thing that seems to be popular is hair growth. Everywhere you look you will see people with many different styles of hair. Most of the time it is the long and luscious locks. This is what I have been aiming towards for quite some time.

For years, I colored my hair unprofessionally and had my fair share of horrifying hair cuts which ultimately leads to extremely damaged hair. Boy was my luck terrible! I am naturally blonde so when I colored my hair dark brown and wanted to go back blonde, I pretty much killed my hair. It wouldn't grow and looked like a puff ball. So I started getting my hair professionally done and asked my stylist for tips. The ones she told me were very simple.

  1. Get your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks. Cutting the dead ends off helps to keep all of the protein and nutrients where they need to be.
  2. When you wash your hair, massage your scalp. Move the skin around so that you get the blood flow up.
  3. Don't be rough when brushing your hair. Work out any knots carefully before just running through them. Also, brush your hair in the morning AND at night.
  4. Keep your hair thoroughly conditioned. Deep conditioning treatments work wonders as well.
  5. Be careful of what ingredients are in your shampoo and conditioner. Those with high levels of sulfates can either strip your hair of protein or cause it to dry out.
  6. The less heat you apply to your hair the better. Cut back on blow drying, straightening and curling. It can cause a lot of damage to your ends

I have done my best to keep up with all of these tips. My hair is now the healthiest it has been in a while and it has grown abount 4 or 5 inches in about 3 months. I also started to take Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins (they may not work for everyone). They help as well.

And fellas, these tips are for you as well. All if these tips can help if your hair stays greasy or like a puff ball. Don't think that it makes you any less of a man if you take great care of your hair. Ladies tend to like a man with great hair (hint hint)!

As far as shampoo and conditioner brands, I love the Suave professionals Moroccan or Keratin lines. They have regular and color treated kinds to choose from. Because we all have different hair types, other brands may work better for you.
