The lines and wait times at polling places across the state on today are expected to be long. Don't let the wait time deter you. This is your opportunity to have a voice in your government and a few minutes or more of your time is well worth the wait.

One of the ways we can all speed up the process is being familiar with the ballot we're about to cast. There are so many races and issues on the ballot today that going into the voting booth to read them for the first time would be mind boggling.

The Louisiana Secretary of State's Office  has a feature on their voting website that allows you to access a sample ballot for your location. This ballot not only covers the national and state races but it has the constitutional amendments local races and issues too.

You can see the ballot for your voting locating right here.

You will need to know what Parish you're registered to vote in as well as the precinct and the ward where you cast your ballot.

Here is where you can find out that information.

This sample ballot is not an official ballot. It could contain the names of candidates that have been disqualified over the past few days so keep that fact in mind. You will also be pleased to know that there is no tracking by the Secretary of States office in regards to your use of this site.

You'll be doing yourself a favor by getting familiar with this ballot before you head to the polls. We suggest you make some notes and get familiar with the issues especially.
