High School Student Shot and Killed in St. Mary Parish

Terrible news to report out of St. Mary Parish as a teen was killed in Franklin yesterday.

Police in Franklin responded to shots fired in the area of Augustine Maze Rd Sunday afternoon around 4pm.

Upon arrival, police say a male victim was found dead from gunshot wounds.

The Franklin Police Department, with help from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, are still examing the crime scene and conducting interviews.

The victim's name has not yet been released. According to eyewitnesses, the victim was a local high school student.
