The song says "it's the most wonderful time of the year" however when you look at the faces of shoppers in the stores or drivers in holiday traffic you might not be inclined to believe it. One thing that I have found that does make the hectic pace of the holiday season at bit more manageable is the sound of holiday music.

Tonight at 6pm near the food court in Acadiana Mall you can take a moment, catch your breath, and be inspired by some amazing young musicians. The Lafayette High Piano Department continues their holiday gift to Acadiana with even more performances of holiday favorites.

The department, part of the Performing Arts Academy at LHS, is under the direction of Ellen McLemore and it features 70 incredible pianist. As part of tonight's  performance you will be treated to traditional arrangements of holiday carols, jazzy versions of yuletide favorites, and incredible duets featuring two pianist at the same time.

This incredible display of talent would not be possible with out the continued support of Lafayette Music Company. They have provided a beautiful baby grand piano for the artists to use during their performances in the mall.

As a parent of an LHS Band and LHS Piano Department student I can't begin to tell you how incredibly community minded Lafayette Music Company is. They are a great partner in music education in our community and their dedication to local music, performers, and educators is unmatched in the area. These good people at Lafayette Music Company are the real deal. The company is locally owned and operated and they are terrific stewards of the music community.

So when you're in the mall this evening come by our location near the food court. Take a few moments to let the holiday music wash your stress away. Let the music take you back to the true meaning and joy of the season. Take a moment and appreciate the budding young talent that is being taught right here in our own community. I promise you the rest of your Christmas season will be a lot brighter if you do.
